Meet Alexis

Your host, and the owner of the space, Alexis believes that feeling special is an important part of the human experience, and being of service truly fills her cup.

After years of hosting meetings and gatherings of all kinds in venues across the state of Washington, Alexis wanted to create a venue that had it all: silverware on site, phone chargers on hand, and chairs that are both comfortable and stylish. Packed with amenities, yet still bare enough to be your blank canvas: 821 Washington is for you.

In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Alexis is proud to serve her community as Vice Chair of the City of Port Townsend's Arts Commission, a member of AAUW, and as Founder and Board President of the Quimper Events Collective, a non-profit association for event professionals in Jefferson County.

In her (little) spare time, Alexis enjoys Port Townsend's many festivals, reading about local history, writing, adventuring with loved ones, and traveling near and far. Alexis lives in central Port Townsend with her husband and two tuxedo cats.

Alexis views her community involvement as a living love letter to Port Townsend and considers being a part of the downtown small business ecosystem a lifelong dream come true.

Alexis also manages The Washington, a four-suite boutique hotel located on the second story above 821. Each suite is beautifully appointed with original local art, thoughtful amenities, and special touches throughout. Check it out!

So what the heck is Peerspace?

Peerspace is like the Vrbo of Event Venues. It is the system we use to manage our bookings. Let us tell you why we picked them:

Pros

  • Self-service: you have 24/7 access to our availability calendar and can submit booking requests whenever!

  • Convenience: Peerspace provides guests and hosts with enough event insurance to satisfy our lawyers, no need to buy additional, phew!

  • Your financial security: your payment is securely stored and processed by a team of professionals

  • Cost-savings: Letting Peerspace handle the back-end for us allows us to keep a tiny-but-tough team working locally - thank you for your support of our small business!

Cons

  • Another dang log-in to manage.

    • Yeah, this one kind of stinks.

      • I'm sorry :(

A Note on Fees

"Fees" - the bane of 21st century living! Yes, there is a service fee Peerspace will add to your bill and deduct from our payment, and no, we are not trying to be sneaky about it. We are all about transparency & value! The above list explains why we believe this structure is worth it. We spent countless hours reviewing options, touring product demos, and crunching numbers. Our goal is to provide the highest value experience for micro-enterprise in Jefferson County and we are on the path to doing just that!
